"Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and "Let it Snow Let it Snow"

What a week! First Bob Ryan says that we're getting a snowstorm. Then the next day it's predicted to be about 6 inches. Then the next day the snowstorm has a name ...Capital Crippler... and we have 2 feet coming our way! Well, we got a white Christmas, but I don't think anyone wanted this much snow! It was nice watching it fall and being inside with the fire going (and roasting s'mores!), but digging out is another story. Thank goodness for City workers! Jeff shoveled a few times as it was coming down on Saturday and then I got out there on Sunday to shovel the 3 ft drift that the wind and snow plow made... When I was out there a massive "bucket loader" was coming down the road helping the plow out. He saw me (with my bright pink hat on) and stopped and dug out the snow drift! OK -- maybe it was because I was a girl, but who cares?! What a great treat! We then headed to my parents house, had brunch and the girls got to play out in the snow (see the picture of my Dad pushing Cecelia down the hill - and no, we did not get a dog).

The snow didn't cancel the kids Christmas party at Jeff's work today -- thank goodness! Cecelia would have cried for a week! She actually sat on Santa's lap, but refused to speak. So, I actually told Santa what Cecelia wanted... Caroline wanted nothing to do with the man in red...she cried and cried and held onto Jeff's shirt for dear life! Colin just didn't know what to think and simply smiled. The girls had a blast (mainly because they got some cute gifts).

Christmas is just around the corner and we are soooo not ready... most of the things are wrapped, but I actually still have to pick up a few gifts! Ugh! However, Jeff and I can't wait to see the kids faces when they wake up Christmas morning! I'll post pictures!

And to quote Cecelia and Caroline's favorite show, Imagination Movers (yes, it's as cheezy as it sounds), "It's Christmas and Hanukkah too! Well, Happy Kwanzaa! Seasons greetings to you!" ...and Festivus for the rest of us!

  1. Way to go with the plow help! I managed to pull that too. Jim was in the back working on the stairs, but the plow guy took pity on me :) from Rebecca
