So, we just returned from a "long weekend" with the kids in the state up north that we call Pennsylvania. First we ventured to Philadelphia and stayed at a beautiful hotel overlooking the Delaware River! Watching the ships from one window in our room (and the highway out the other! haha) was a huge hit with the kids! We actually had two rooms that were connected by a foyer. That is definitely the way to go traveling with kids -- especially when kids go to bed so much earlier than adults (well, in theory that is). Needless to say we are a little off schedule now! haha
My favorite part was breakfast right next to the river! Who would have thought we'd have a peaceful, relaxing, and delicious buffet (with the kids!) in the sun, over looking the water -- in the city??!! OK -- I know it isn't Hawaii or the California coast, but Jeff and I will take what we can get!
After staying in the city we headed up to visit Great Grandma in north eastern PA! Plus Pop Pop and Grandma arrived the day after we did -- talk about a fun time for the kids!
Here are a few snapshots from our trip (with some captions below)!
The kids "grocery shopping" at the Please Touch Museum!
President Obama's motorcade as seen from our hotel room -- he followed us to Philly!
Cecelia "stylin'" in the hotel room!
The girls coloring at the Crayola Factory -- a side trip on the way to Great Grandma's house from Philadelphia.
Takin' a trip on the railroad in Steamtown -- Scranton, PA! What a wonderful historic site! We spent almost three hours exploring the trains and the museum!
