Happy Alumni Weekend!

So, last year we didn't make it, but this year we thought we'd give it a shot! The five of us headed back to Mason to relive those "wild" moments when kids, mortgages, yard maintenance, adulthood pressures, etc. weren't even a a thought in our minds. The campus has changed dramatically to say the least. The number of students living on campus is quintupled from when we went there -- amazing! They even have a Starbucks!! (not like I drink coffee -- but still!).

We actually didn't think we were going to go because of Cecelia's soccer game, but we decided (at the last minute -- about 30 min before we left!) to go. Luckily I had registered us a few months ago, so we could make that last minute decision. We all got lanyards with our names, water bottles, and snacks around every corner (they sure know how to make kids happy!). We took part in a trolley tour around the campus, an alumni bbq, and the kids got their face painted at a caricature done! We had a nice time.

To top it off -- they brought my favorite Mason snack back -- Blondies!!! Jeff is taking a class there this semester and I asked him to pick me up a blondie (a 3" square chocolate chip cookie). I literally had 4 blondies a week when I lived at mason. They were my favorite snack! Well, Jeff couldn't find them, so I took matters into my own hands. I called food services to find out where they sold them (if at all), and the lady in charge said she was new and hadn't heard of them. So, obviously they discontinued my favorite food item! But, she said she was happy I called and said she wanted to make them for alumni weekend. And they did! I never knew they'd go through that much trouble -- but it made my day!
