Colin inherited my eczema -- red and itchy skin that gets worse when there is a change in weather (be it hot or cold). Unlike me, though, Colin will itch and itch until it bleeds unfortunately. There is no stopping him. We try to keep shoes on him as much as possible and he sleeps in footy PJs year round (fleece in the cold months and lightweight cotton during the warm months).
As Colin is approaching the 2 year mark he is of course getting a little smarter... He is now capable of completely removing his footy PJs. It started in the morning. He'd wake up before everyone else and talk and play in his crib -- with his PJ's off -- nothing on but his onesie. He'd happily play and itch away to his heart's content. Now the PJs come off at all times of the night -- ranging from soon after bed time to 1am. The problem is he throws them on the floor after he takes them off, gets cold, and cannot put them back on. So, he screams. If you are a seasoned parent you know that if you go and comfort a baby every time they cry they'll just cry to get your attention and it'll be a never ending cycle. So, lately we are struggling to decipher Colin's cries -- we ask ourselves -- "should we go up there and check?" and sometimes make bets if he has removed his precious PJs. And so the saga continues....the adventures of our itchy and somewhat naked little man!
Here he is on a typical morning -- notice the PJs and Donald (Colin's stuffed animal) on the floor.
