Brotherly (and sisterly) love

With Cecelia in Kindergarten full day Caroline and Colin have been spending a lot of time together. With about 17 months between the two (when they are in the double stroller I get a lot of twin comments) they are finally playing together and having some fun. Next year at this time (when Caroline is 4 1/2 and Colin is 3) it'll be really interesting to revisit this topic -- hah! Yes, they have their moments -- especially when Colin gets into Caroline's markers and crayons -- but none the less you can tell they love each other in their own unique way. For example, Colin was taking off his shoe in the car last week (he has bad eczema and itches his feet whenever he can -- hence shoes on all the time!) and Caroline yelled at him saying "Colin -- don't take off your shoe!" Colin then started to cry. So, yes -- tears were shed, but Caroline said the comment out of love! hehe Then today I had to wrangle Caroline down to change her diaper (no comments about potty training please -- when you have three kids this young and at these ages then you can comment) and she refused to lay still. Colin then threw himself on top of Caroline (picture Caroline lying on her back and Colin laying belly down on top of Caroline) and I was able to change her diaper! Thanks, Colin! See -- he really wanted her to get her diaper changed!

OK -- while I may be dreaming about this sibling love I think they have the beginnings of what can be a lasting friendship -- don't you? :)
