Our little Caroline turned three --- in Dora style!
We celebrated Caroline's third birthday yesterday with a small Dora party at our house. I found an idea online (a prize winning Dora party apparently!) and used several of their ideas. First the kids came in and colored some Dora pictures while we waiting for everyone to arrive (she had three friends (and a few of their siblings) -- fitting for a third birthday!). We then had small lunches from Whole Foods (they did a great job of creating delicious little sandwiches for kids, chips, and a fruit cup -- all for $3.99!!).
Then it was time to see Caroline's cake -- but, Swiper "took" the cake. So, we had to go on a Dora Adventure to find the cake. I made purple backpacks with "tools" needed to go on the adventure. (Note!! Beware -- that craft foam (next to the felt in the craft store) is really hard to work with and doesn't stand up too well to the "activity" of little kids!)
We went across Crocodile Lake (the kids had to fill in "holes" in the bridge with shapes), walked through Fiesta Forest and found mini animals to keep, and then through a long, dark tunnel (compliments of Jeff and some creativity with plastic shelving!) to finally end up at Swiper's Hiding Place! And guess what we found? Caroline's cake! Shocker! Oh the things that three year olds (and five year olds for that matter) eat up! No pun intended :)
So, I don't have too many decent pictures of the party, but here are a couple.
Happy birthday to our little girl! She is growing up so fast!
Now...on to potty training. Ugh!
What an adorable party!! And the whole foods lunches sound so nice :) happy birthday to Caroline.
