So, being New Year's Day we headed downtown to see the National Christmas Tree! This has been an annual tradition for us for three years now (maybe four!). It's always "dead" in DC since all the partiers are still asleep -- obviously with three small kids we aren't "partiers" so we are there at 11am and get a great parking spot! The kids loved seeing the trains, the big Christmas tree (bigger than Grandma and Pop Pop's -- according to Cecelia), and of course the Virgina state tree! Maybe when the kids are older we'll go down during the Pageant of Peace one evening before Christmas and get to enjoy some of the other things they have there like the live music, a working Santa's workshop and some Starbucks hot chocolate! Yum!
Here are a couple pictures!
