Our family of five had a nice Christmas. I must say, though, that with three small kids Christmas becomes a bit more stressful. Yes, there was the nice celebrations with Jeff's family on Christmas Eve and then my family on Christmas Day, but amidst all this fun there was the occasional "freak out" moment. For example, my "ripping the house apart" moment on Christmas morning when we couldn't find Caroline's black dress shoes five minutes after we were supposed to have left the house for church. Talk about the wrath of Erin -- especially when Jeff chimed in "can't she just wear her sneakers?" Then there was Caroline and Cecelia playing with poor Colin's toys instead of their own leaving one sad little boy left to play with a Barbie doll!
Overall we had a nice few days. My favorite part was after the kids went to bed on Christmas Eve. Jeff and I sat on the couch by the fire and watched our favorite scene in It's a Wonderful Life - the Charleston Contest when the dance floor opens up into the swimming pool. Then it was on to wrapping some gifts! We were in bed by 11pm which was a record for us on Christmas Eve!
Another neat thing we discovered on Christmas Eve is watching Santa in Google Earth - compliments of NORAD! The girls were really into watching where Santa was headed to next! During the day on Christmas Eve we saw him stop over in India, Diego Garcia, and a few Middle Eastern countries!
Here is a nice picture of the five of us at my parents house on Christmas Day!
And of course I have to take a picture of Colin in his Cozy Coupe! Caroline loves this toy so much that she might be getting a "girly" version for her birthday in a few weeks! That would save us so many headaches...and tears! haha!
The "cafe" in the picture was a present for the girls -- filled with pots, pans, plates, cups, etc. It was actually something my grandfather made for my mother when she was Cecelia's age. She passed it down to me when I was a toddler and now Jeff refurbished it a little and the girls are having fun with it! Cecelia in fact gets really jealous if Caroline is playing with it without her. She'll even annouce when she's not around that "The Cafe is closed!" Kids!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
