So, I'm not sure how many of you know but Caroline has been my child who has lingered in the "terrible two" phase for quite some time. She will be three in January, but honestly these "terrible twos" seem to be getting worse! She throws MAJOR temper tantrums and just gets so frustrated. There is no way to "let her just have them" as if you walk away she'll follow you and show you how mad she is! Seriously! She'll bite things (not people, just things), kick her feet, scream, and lay flat out on the ground. It's crazy!
To make you feel more sorry for me (just kidding!) here is the list of places (public places!) she has had these tantrums. In these cases I take the "grab her and run" type stance, but sometimes she is kicking and screaming so hard it's tougher than it might seem.
The center foyer of Wegmans
The parking lot (on the pavement) of Whole Foods
Outside the Paschal Lamb (on the pavement)
In the Costco parking lot (while still in the shopping cart)
Church (of course!)
...and I'm sure the list will continue
Oh well -- I know this can be typical (notice I say "can be") behavior of a little kid, but I hope she grows out of this sooner rather than later. She has resisted potty training, but my goal is to do the "cold turkey" method like I used for Cecelia by the time the end of January comes around.
Life with Caroline isn't all temper tantrums -- she is doing some really cute things lately. Not sure if it's cute but she's gotten really into Dora and Diego! So, she'll be having a Dora third birthday party! It's too cute how she'll actually respond to Dora on the TV -- something Cecelia never did! We are still trying to work on her manners -- please, excuse me, etc. But, it's getting there! I'm glad Caroline has another year (almost!) before she starts preschool! I think she needs to extra attention :) But, she cannot wait --- she is jealous when Cecelia goes to school. She says "I'm going to preschool next year!"
We love you Caroline -- our lovely middle child :)
Hang in there Erin! Thomas was one tough cookie to deal with most of being two. I'm lucky that since he's turned 3 I feel like rational decisions play a part with him now (not all the time...but I'm thrilled with some). Thanks so much for the Christmas card and photo. Very cute!
