Seeing is believing!

So, yesterday we went to see a "concert" for kids. The weather was beautiful and the girls had a blast. It's nice to have something to force us out of the house on Monday morning. Now that everyone is a little older we can go more places without too much preparation...well besides the usual sippy cups and snacks. I honestly don't even bring a diaper anymore (I just keep one stashed in the car just in case). I'm even starting to get over my fear of germs (I'm a huge germaphobe) and really letting the kids just have fun and be kids w/o the worry of germs (well, I do purell when we get in the car and they wash hands before we eat, but come on!).

We were joined at the concert by an old neighbor who also has three kids. We then headed to Pot Belly for lunch. It was so nice to just be out with a friend who is in the same boat as me. The kids all got along and we had a nice lunch out for a change!

By the time we got home Jeff was only minutes away and it was time for me to leave for my eye doctor's appointment. I honestly thought it was just going to be a check-up, but I found out some great news -- I may not need a cornea transplant after all! I qualify for a new technology called Corneal Collagen Crosslinking. In other words, the doctor puts a few drops of riboflavin in my eye, shines a UV light which activates the riboflavin and therefore actually induces collagen crosslinking -- in turn strengthening my cornea!!! So, it actually stops and possibly improves my Keratoconus (the disease I have that screws up my corneas!)!!! That is huge!!! Jeff and I are ecstatic and are thinking about having the procedure performed as early as mid-September!

What a wonderful day!
