We saw a bunch of animals up close and even saw some of the "zookeepers" feeding them and getting their habitats ready for the day. One of the more interesting things was seeing them wet down the rain forest habitats in the small mammals house. Our favorite part was seeing the pandas up close and person -- something we haven't done before! I'm so glad I purchased the FONZ membership -- we are really getting some good use out of it!
Here are a few pictures!
On the way home I got a little "gutsy" and drove by Georgetown Cupcake. The line wasn't long and all so we actually parked on a side street in Georgetown and went to get some cupcakes. I still cannot believe I did that w/three kids! But, it was actually kind of neat to see the actual bakery (yes, I felt like a huge tourist!) and where the show DC Cupcakes is filmed. I didn't see either sister, but I did see the guy who actually bakes the cupcakes.
To make a long story short, it was hot outside, the bakery was so tiny that the double stroller barely fit, Caroline wanted to be held the ENTIRE walk back to the car (three bumpy blocks!), and the cupcakes looked like this when we got back to the car...
Oh well, it's the experience that matters, right? :)
And after all that heartache getting back to the car and Caroline screaming "Daisy" with tears rolling down her face as I strapped her into her car seat, I go to get Colin out of the stroller and he is looking like this -- I had to take a picture!
