Just call me Rosie

That would have been the perfect name for Colin this past weekend/week (well, I guess it's kind of a girly name -- oh well). Anyways, Colin spiked a random fever on Friday. The girls went to spend the night at my parents (fun surprise!) and when my mom swung by to get the girls she thought Colin felt warm. I didn't think so, but when Jeff mentioned it when he got home we took his temperature. It was over 102 so our plans for going out to dinner (just the three of us) were squashed. Poor Colin didn't even touch his dinner at home -- we gave him some Tylenol, a quick bath, and then he passed out around 7:15 (he slept until 8 the next morning!). The fever continued until Sunday morning. Mr. Colin was very unhappy most of the weekend. He really didn't want to play at all -- just wanted to be held by either Jeff or myself.

On Monday morning I noticed a red bumpy rash. That can only mean one thing -- Roseola! It's a high fever followed by the red bumps. Luckily once the rash appears he's not contagious. Also -- since it's mostly only seen in kids under the age of two we didn't have to worry about anyone else in the house getting sick! Can you hear my sign of relief?? :) Needless to say the rash was a little bit of a wonderful sight! Little Colin was completely covered in the red bumps. They started on his face and neck and then pretty soon his entire body was covered. Just call him Mr. Roseola! Today they have finally started to go away! Here's a pic from yesterday -- you can see the redness in his cheeks and on his chin.
