So, today is the day the kids have been looking forward to since we put out our decorations a few weeks ago...Halloween!!
Since we are now in a "family" neighborhood Jeff and I decided to decorate the outside a little bit for the holiday. Well, actually I must admit that we sat down at watched HGTV's Halloween Block Party (nothing was on...seriously!) and we got inspired. The show was actually pretty cool and we thought that we could at least do one of the decorations...fake tombstones with dirt and bones. So, we did. We also had some music playing in the background to make things little more festive (typical music like Monster Mash, and this..
Jeff actually had this at full blast in the basement (with overdone bass) as he was making the set up in the yard. I asked what was going on and he replied, "It's getting me in the Halloween mood!" Go figure!
Colin went around with the girls for a few houses and then I headed back with him to hand out candy. The girls and Jeff met up with the next door neighbors and together they hit up the entire neighborhood (about 25 houses). They had a blast and collected a bunch of candy (some full sized candy bars even!).
What a great Halloween!
Here are some pictures!
Halloween Pretzels for the trick-or-treaters (something on the healthy side for a change)
Our graveyard set-up
Cecelia dancing to the Monster Mash!
Our pumpkin -- Cecelia drew a picture of what she wanted and I copied it on to the pumpkin -- "That's a scary pumpkin!" - Get it, Dad? :)
All the kids ready to go!
Caroline snacking on some M&M's after the hour long trick or treating!
A "night view" of the grave yard!
See...this is the "good" of having kids (per my last post) -- makes you feel like a kid again! Happy Halloween from the Meuniers!
